What was supposed to be a quick grocery run turned into a day this Marysville man will never forget. After returning home from shopping, he realized his debit card had vanished — cue the panic.

Hoping for the best, he retraced his steps and made a beeline back to the store, praying someone had turned it in. Spoiler: they had. But that stroke of good luck was only the beginning. What happened next took his “lucky day” to a whole new level and left him nearly half a million dollars richer.

Lost debit card sends man on frantic search

A Marysville man made his way to WinCo Foods, located at 3947 116th Street NE in Marysville, for a routine shopping trip. After he returned home, he realized he no longer had his debit card.

Frantic and worried, he started to retrace his steps, hoping he would find it along the way. He made his way back to the WinCo and thankfully one of the staff had found it and set it aside for safekeeping.

Felt like it was his lucky day

With his debit card back in his possession, the man was feeling a mix of relief and gratitude. That is when he thought to himself, “This must be my lucky day. I should buy some lottery tickets.”

Well, he was in the right place, so he headed over to the register and purchased a few different games. One of those games happened to be a ticket for the Hit 5 draw game.

His hunch was right

That feeling it was his lucky day was a correct feeling. Later that evening, the Marysville man sat down to check his tickets and see if he had any winners.

He checked his Hit 5 ticket and when the third number matched, he told lottery officials that his hands started to tremble. He kept looking and he determined he matched all five numbers and won the $480,000 jackpot. At that point, he said he could hardly believe what was happening.

He recently made his way to lottery headquarters to claim his big prize. Now that he has this windfall of cash, he said he plans on checking off a few items from his bucket list, including traveling to Japan and exploring the East Coast.

Don’t miss out on your lucky day

While this Marysville man was able to cash in on his lucky day, another 加拿大28预测开奖:Washington Lottery player might be missing out on their chance. Lottery officials are encouraging players to double-check their lottery tickets, as a $10,000 Match 4 prize is about to expire in less than two weeks.

The winning ticket was purchased at Walmart, located at 34520 16th Avenue S in Federal Way. The ticket needs to be claimed by May 4, 2025. Since that is a weekend and lottery offices are closed on the weekend, it must be claimed before 5 p.m. PST on Friday, May 2.

This ticket was for the November 5, 2024, drawing of Match 4. The winning numbers were 1, 14, 22, and 24. Winning players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.

Including this Match 4 unclaimed prize, lottery officials said there are currently 13 prizes valued at $10,000 or more, totalling $130,000, that will expire soon. If you are holding onto one of these unclaimed tickets, you should collect your winnings at one of the regional offices of the Washington Lottery, which are located in Everett, Federal Way, Olympia, Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver.

Enjoy playing the Washington Lottery, and please remember to play responsibly.
